Moved off a dying CMS without changing how the site looked
The client wanted the exact same site, just off a platform that was no longer well supported.

What the business needed.
Cope Linder Architects’ site ran on PyroCMS, a platform with a shrinking community and less support over time. They needed it rebuilt on something more maintainable, but were clear about the constraint: “at this time the client is not looking for a new site design. If possible they would like to maintain the current look and feel, layout, content, and navigation structure of their current website.”
What I did.
I set up a staging server, exported all their data out of PyroCMS, and rebuilt every page layout on WordPress using the Genesis theme framework, recreating the existing design exactly rather than proposing a new one. I added responsive styling for mobile, which the old PyroCMS site never had, as a genuine upgrade rather than a visual change. I tested the rebuild thoroughly before it went live.
What they got.
The same site their visitors already knew, running on a platform with active support, plus mobile responsiveness the old site never had.
For your technical person
Stack: WordPress (Genesis theme framework, child theme), PHP, MySQL, CSS. Migrated from PyroCMS. Full data export from PyroCMS, reimported into WordPress as post types. All page layouts rebuilt on newly coded Genesis child-theme templates, matching the original design exactly. Added responsive/mobile styling, which the previous PyroCMS build lacked entirely. Full QA pass before launch. Project size: medium. Delivered 2018.
