The problem.
A limited-edition Shopify Plus campaign needed to gate exclusive digital content behind a verified purchase, but without standing up any servers, without relying on external APIs, and without breaking Shopify’s checkout rules.
What I built.
A verification flow that runs entirely on the customer’s device, using time-limited tokens to confirm a genuine purchase, with no backend server and no external API calls involved. It’s built to work natively within Shopify’s checkout customisation rules, so it doesn’t rely on workarounds that could break with a Shopify update.
What they got.
A campaign that launched on schedule, with no ongoing hosting or infrastructure cost, and no unverified access to the exclusive content.

Built on Shopify Plus using Liquid templates and JavaScript, within Shopify’s checkout customisation framework. Verification uses encrypted, time-bound tokens validated entirely client-side, with no backend server or external API dependency. Designed to be reusable for future gated campaigns or loyalty activations. Delivered in 5 days, 2024.
