Why email-safe HTML

Modern email clients (Outlook on Windows in particular) do not render flexbox, CSS grid, web fonts or external stylesheets reliably. The tool emits classic table-based HTML with inline styles so what you paste actually renders the same way for your recipient.

Disclaimer note: the legal disclaimer templates are general business starting points, not legal advice. Have a qualified professional review the wording before relying on it for compliance.

Quick answer

A free signature, branded email and disclaimer generator that produces email-client-safe HTML.

Pick a mode, fill in your details, choose a layout, and copy the rendered HTML. The output is plain table-based HTML with inline CSS, no JavaScript, no external CSS, no web fonts, so Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and webmail render it the same way. Your data, logos and saved projects stay on your device.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this tool generate?

Three things in one tool. (1) A professional email signature you can paste into Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. (2) A branded business email body (header, message, CTA button, footer) for emails like quote follow-ups, invoices, appointment confirmations or welcome emails. (3) A standalone disclaimer / footer block (POPIA, confidentiality, VAT and registration footer, industry-specific notices).

How do I paste this into Gmail or Outlook?

Click "Copy for email client". This copies the rendered HTML to your clipboard. Open a new compose window in Gmail or Outlook, click the body, and paste. The signature or template renders as rich content. For Gmail, you can also paste into Settings → See all settings → Signature.

Why is the output table-based and not modern HTML?

Email clients (especially Outlook on Windows, Outlook.com and many corporate webmails) do not render flexbox, CSS grid, web fonts or external stylesheets reliably. The tool generates classic email-safe HTML, with table layouts, inline CSS, web-safe font stacks and absolute image URLs, so what you paste actually renders the same way for the recipient.

Does my data leave my browser?

No. Everything runs client-side. The project, logo and any uploaded images are saved using IndexedDB on this device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Export as JSON if you want a backup or to move between devices.

How do social media icons work?

You pick one of three icon modes. Text links: safest, just styled platform names, works in every client. Hosted PNGs: recommended, the email references PNGs at a public URL like /email-icons/<platform>.png so all email clients can fetch the image (Outlook handles this best). Base64 embedded: experimental, the icons travel inside the HTML; some clients (older Outlook, certain webmails) strip large inline images.

Are the disclaimer templates legal advice?

No. They are general business templates. Standard confidentiality, POPIA / privacy notice, virus warning, VAT and registration footers, plus industry-specific patterns (legal, medical, financial). They are starting points and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before relying on them for compliance.

Does this support South African business requirements?

Yes. There is a "South African business" toggle in the Template tab that flags missing VAT number, company registration number and recommends a POPIA / privacy disclaimer. The generator also includes a VAT footer and company registration footer template for use under the Companies Act and POPIA.

Can I save more than one signature?

Yes. Use Duplicate to fork the current project, then rename it. Each signature is autosaved locally and shows in the Saved projects list at the bottom of the tool. Useful if you manage multiple staff members, brands or roles.

What email clients does the output work in?

Tested against the rendering rules of Gmail (web, iOS, Android), Outlook (Web, Mac, Windows / desktop), Apple Mail, Thunderbird and most major webmail providers. The compatibility checker warns about layouts and image choices that are known to cause issues, like base64 in older Outlook, signatures wider than 600px, missing alt text and so on.

Will the signature look the same in dark mode?

Modern Gmail and Apple Mail support dark mode. The tool lets you preview against a dark background to spot contrast issues. Use a logo with a transparent background and avoid setting hard background colours on the outer table for the best dark-mode behaviour.

Can I import or export my project?

Yes. Export saves a versioned JSON file (.esg.json). Import accepts the same format and validates it before loading. Invalid keys are dropped and HTML/scripts inside fields are escaped before render. Useful for backups and for sharing a corporate signature template with colleagues.

Does this generate marketing-grade emails?

It builds a clean branded email body, with header, message, CTA, signature and disclaimer. For high-volume marketing campaigns you still want a dedicated ESP (Mailchimp, Brevo, Customer.io) for list management, tracking pixels, unsubscribe handling and bounce processing. The tool is great for transactional, support and one-off branded emails.

Can Anton build a custom email or signature workflow?

Yes. Custom transactional email systems, branded templates, signature-management for staff, ESP integrations (Mailchimp, Brevo, AWS SES, Postmark) and full email workflows are part of the work I do for South African and international clients.
